So who is Productivity Pit Stop and its people?
It all started in 1991 when Gerrit Cloete decided to exchange the corporate life style to become self-employed. Over the ensuing years, he has developed a small but highly effective network of people in South Africa and the USA.
Everyone in the network is an independent business owner, so we are not burdened by bureaucracy and red tape. We have fun working together and everyone makes a positive contribution to ensuring that we continuously bring you the latest and most productive ways of getting your work done easier.
At the moment Gerrit Cloete ( Cape Town) and Richard de Villiers ( Johannesburg) deliver our services.
Gerrit Cloete
“I am a great believer in synchronicity. So when things that seem worthwhile doing come across my path, I do them! It's therefore not surprising that I have done many different things during my career so far.”
“After my stint in the corporate world my focus shifted to " how can I help myself and others to get more out of life?””
“I have been associated with Success Motivation International, followed by seven years as a member of the team that represents Stephen Covey's work (The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People) in South Africa. I have since developed relationships with Jerry Fletcher and David Allen in the USA. Jerry is passionate about developing high performance in individuals and teams while David is acknowledged as one of the world's leading thinkers on personal productivity.”
“I seem to enjoy seeking out “remedies” for areas where I am struggling, and when I find it, I am excited about it and want to share that with others.”
“ What I really enjoy about my work is the immediate and tangible impact of the time and effort I invest with my clients.”
“I have been approached by Microsoft SA to assist in a project at ABSA, where I coached the personal assistants of most of the top management members in ABSA.”
“When working with clients, I believe we should have fun. I only work with people who are serious about making the changes required to make their life more enjoyable. I follow the flow of working with my client, armed with the proven framework of what really works.”
“The ‘slogan’ on the Cloete family coat of arms is “Ubi Cras” – “Where Tomorrow”. I am sure the rest of my road through life is bound to take many interesting twists and turns. But wherever I am and whatever I do, it will always have to do with making my own life and other people’s lives easier.”
Richard de Villiers
“Finding the shortest route between two points is my passion and I am therefore constantly on the look out for easier and better ways to do things and never forgetting to have fun along the way!”
"My passion continues to develop during the course of the many hats that I have been fortunate to wear during my life. 'Hats' have and do include father, husband, programmer, systems analyst, manager, trainer, educator, facilitator, project manager, mentor, coach, Head of HR Systems and not forgetting my virtual PC Pilot!"
"As time went by under the guise of these different hats I realised that normal time management techniques are no longer effective in coping with the demands of modern day life. It was while looking for new ways to deal with the new world of work that I met Gerrit and the Getting Things Done approach to life."
"Realising our shared passion for productivity, we teamed up with the vision of delivering practical and tangible productivity enhancing techniques and solutions that can be applied to both the private and working lives of people."
"Since then I have been fortunate to touch the lives of many people through public and corporate workshops helping people to practically apply our day to day experience of Getting Things Done."
"What I really enjoy about what we do is that we train from experience. We practice what we teach and go out of our way to ensure that the knowledge and skill that we transfer to participants of our workshop and coaching sessions can be applied immediately."
"If you're keen to take charge of the open loops in your life, I'm looking forward to being of service to you!"
